Our clients needed an architect in St Austell, Cornwall to provide them with a Full Architectural Service for their 7 new seafront dwellings.
This site is located just below the Duporth Apartments scheme, owned by the same developer. We are proposing a series of 7 contemporary, detached dwellings that all face towards the sea in an elevated location. The upside-down configuration has a vaulted, first floor living space with a full width external balcony.
The design draws from traditional boathouse design, whilst the generous, overhanging roof and reveals provide solar shading and privacy from the adjoining units.
We hope to submit a planning application in the near future.
We have worked with the team at van Ellen and Sheryn on 6 projects as there Principle Contractors.
3 of the projects have been in a National park and one on a listed building within the National park – this particular project was the first building to gain planning permission of its type – no small achievement and a credit to the practice. They are a very approachable practice who interpret the clients requirements with some original and practical design features that also meet the budget. The release and quality of the information on the drawings is clear and easy to work to. Each project has been better than the last – looking forward to working with the team on the next one!
