Two barn conversions by van Ellen + Sheryn in construction.

The barns form part of a larger farmstead in the Dartmoor National Park, and will become ancillary accommodation for the main farmhouse. One will provide additional sleeping accommodation for guests, whilst the other will have a bar, snooker table and wine cellar.

The proposals are a complex patchwork of old and new and an exercise in conservation to retain (in-situ) historic granite columns and timber trusses. New, modern insulated fabric encapsulates these elements to provide an internal environment that meets modern standards.

Western red cedar cladding has been used to provide a contemporary and visually interesting ceiling finish.

The project is due to complete in the summer/autumn this year. For more information or to discuss your own project please contact us or visit our website.
