We are pleased to announce our latest Planning Approval; Erme House is a large new property set in the dramatic and highly protected landscape of the South Devon Heritage Coast.

The house prioritises the use of sustainably sourced, locally-appropriate materials, featuring raked shillet stone walls to mimic Devon banks, combed lime render with natural pigments to reflect the earthy cliff-faces of Devon, and folding copper ‘leaves’ that form the roof.

The application was praised for its sensitive approach to the re-development of the site, the protection of the surrounding landscape, and the use of renewable energy and materials. The plan responds to the existing topography on site, which steps down towards the sea. This separates the dwelling in to a series of distinct volumes, following the natural formation of the hillside.

Works are expected to commence on site in Mid-2023; Adding to the list of exciting things coming with the New Year!
